Defensive Back Buddy Break Drill


The purpose of this Defensive Back Buddy Break Drill is to work on backpedal footwork and turning to run with receiver while always focusing on the quarterback. And work on interception and pass-break-up technique.

Description and Coaching Points

  1. Tandem DBs begin backpedal
  2. Move on coach’s direction
  3. Don’t use hands on buddy
  4. Break on ball
  5. Intercept at highest point
  6. “Strip” if you can’t intercept
