Who said Week 17 Games were meaningless?

Remeber 2 weeks ago? Quite some playoff-bound teams played, then seemingly meaningless games, and played most of the time their second- and third-stringers…

Well, looking at the teams who played this weekend in the Divisional Playoffs, reveals the following:

Only 3 of the 8 teams won their game in Week 17, all 3 teams won subsequently this weekend too, beating a team that lost in week 17, and are now going to the Conference Championsship game…

Just the last playoff games had no week 17 winner, both teams lost, but with what a different effort: the Cowboys more or less forfeiting the game, while the Giants fought their heart out to prevent the Patriots from going unbeaten… and the outcome of their match is known
see the overview below:

Green Bay Packers 42 (Week 17: W, 34-13 vs Lions)
Seattle Seahawks 20 (Week 17: L, 41-44 at Atlanta Falcons)
