The Week 13 was tough on the Quarterbacks: most of the had to deal with really bad weather, it was cold and pouring, so passing a lot wasn’t the best advice, and if they had to the results were – over all – way below the average.
Well, anyway, here are the Rankings of the Top 10 NFL Quarterbacks after 13 weeks into the season:
| Rank | Quarterback | Score | last week | comments |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Drew Brees | 6633 | (1 – 6867) | Drew Brees had a terrible performance this week, after having an almost perfect performance in week 12. Worst: 3 Interceptions, and only 53.2 percent completion rate… |
| 2 | Tony Romo | 6392 | (3 – 6067) | After his return from the pinky injury he’s moving irresitebly up the rankings. A second game in a row with 3 TD-Passes and a Passer-rating of 113 together with no fumbles and no sacks were way above this weeks average QB performance… |
| 3 | Kurt Warner | 6067 | (2 – 6200) | A second bad performance vs a NFC East Team in a row, let him drop farther down the rankings. Bad: 3 Interceptions and only 53.8 completion rate (was above 70 after week 11) |
| 4 | Chad Pennington | 5992 | (5 – 5842) | Despite his performance in week 13 was way below his week 12 performance he moved up one spot in the rankings, partly because of Philip Rivers poor performance but also because his performance was still one of the better compared to his QB colleagues in the league. |
| 5 | Philip Rivers | 5825 | (4 – 5975) | Another poor performance after last weeks outstanding passing performance let him slip down the rankings: No TD, only 5 yards per attempt and a completion rate of 56.7, 3 sacks and a fumble (even though not lost) in another losing effort stood against no interceptions and 4 rushes for 18 yards on the positive side. |
| 6 | Jay Cutler | 5817 | (6 – 5417) | Jay Cutler seems to have settled for place #6. Last weeks poor performance in the loss to the Raiders didn’t harm his rankings, and this weeks good performance in their win over the Jets didn’t help him to move up in the rankings. |
| 7 | Matt Ryan | 5775 | (10 – 5200) | The Rookie keeps impressing the league. A passer rating of 130 in week 13 made him jump up 3 more spots. 73.9% completion rate, 2 TD, 0 Interceptions, 0 Sacks, 0 fumbles and a win. Only “not so good” statistic: -3 yards rushing in 4 attempts. |
| 8 | Peyton Manning | 5250 | (7 – 5350) | Despite a completion rate of 71.4% in the win over Cleveland Peyton Manning had definitively one of his worst days in the NFL: all in all just 125 yards passing, no TD but 2 interceptions and a (not lost) fumble, 3 rushes for minus 2 lead to a passer rating of 46.8 and only the over all poor QB performance in week 13 stopped him from slipping even farther down. #8 in a three way tie. |
| 8 | Aaron Rodgers | 5250 | (9 – 5283) | Actually no ranking improvement, formerly number 9 now a three way share of number 8. Actually a good performance (throwing for almost 300 yards and 3 TD and rushing 5 times for 26 yards) wouldn’t be there the 2 sacks and the interception… |
| 8 | Jeff Garcia | 5250 | (12 – 5125) | That his mediocre performance (throwing for only 119 with a completion rate of 39.1%) helped him to jump into the top 10 shows how poor the overall QB performance was in week 13. Just his 7 rushes for 42 yards and no interceptions were really on the good side. |
Dropped out of top 10: Matt Cassel
No longer in the equation (too few passing attempts): Dan Orlovsky
