On my quest for contributors for more Football Drills I also contacted the coaching staff of the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers and Coach Kearney immediately offered his help.
He sent me his " Come to Balance Pre-Tackling Drills" – a series of drills all focusing on teaching the defender good footwork to come to balance before executing a full tackle. These drills will, if implemented right into the practice plan, will make the defenders of any team surer and more confident tacklers.
Thomas J. Kearney III is the Assistant Head Coach and also coaches the Secondary of the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers. The Tigers play in the Midwest League of the Mid-States Football Association (NAIA).
Thomas and his wife, Ginette, have two daughters, Breonna and Monique.
