Coach Roth: Football: Drills and Coaching

Today I started to migrate the old Guestbook (it was on htmlgear.lycos.com).

Since there is no way to download all the entries anymore - I flipped through the pages and saved every page to an extra html-file.

Then I got to the spot where I found out that somebody did actually spam my guestbook with more than 100 nearly identical entries . Since I’m not willing to show them on the new - spam cleaned - guestbook anymore i flipped over those pages without saving. Still there are more than 750 entries to migrate (the other unwanted entries I will remove after the migration)…

Then I moved them over to my linux-box and copied them all together into one big file.

That file I started to weed out the unnecessary parts - I used the editor vim because of it’s great scripting and regular-expression capabilities.
