Patriots and their videos: A never ending story

Posted on May 8th, 2008 in NFL by coachroth

The New England Patriots are threatend again with punishment from the NFL because of “illegal” video taping - an accusation that showed up the first time February 2nd, the day before this years Super Bowl.

Now, witness Matt Walsh (at that time New England Patriots video assistant) who claims to have evidence that the New England Patriots filmed the final walkthroughs of their then Super Bowl XXXVIII Opponent St. Louis Rams in 2002, will talk to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on May 13th. Patriots HC Bill Belichick denies taping the walkthrough…

And now this: Walsh sent 8 tapes to the NFL all which show only what’s already admitted by the Patriots: taping of oppenents signals…

Aaaand now Michal Levy, Walsh’s lawyer is quoted like this: “Mr. Walsh has never claimed to have a tape of the walkthrough”.

What?

And he also denies that Walsh has been the source of the Feb. 2nd rumor: “Mr. Walsh has never been the source of any of the media speculation about such a tape. Mr. Walsh was not the source for the Feb. 2 Boston Herald article.”

Well, it seem to me that somebody wanted just very hard to get some publicity…

What do you think?
