Here are the latest rumors and facts from the NFL Coaching Carousel:

Chrissy Mauck from 49ersFaithful.net reports that 49ers HC Nolan has Mike Martz (Lions ex-OC) as well as Brian Billick (Ravens ex-HC) and Cam Cameron (Dolphins ex-HC) on his interview-wishlist for the new 49ers offensive coordinator…

however so far only interviews with Chan Gailey and Mike Martz are confirmed…

but now he also can look for a new QB coach, since Frank Cignetti left for Cal to be their new OC/QB coach…

Fooch of ninersnation.com even brings up June Joneshis post already got quite some good comments about the different more or less likely candidates…

New England Patriot’s offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels took himself out of considerations for any of the available NFL HC jobs, by stating officially he’s not interested

The Miami Dolphins officially confirmed the interviewing of Cowboys’ Tony Sparano and on Monday Vikings DC Leslie Frazier traveled to Miami for an interview for the Dolphins HC job

RockKing of clevelandsports reports and comments on the rumor from Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer that Browns OC Rob Chudzinski will be interviewed by the Ravens for their vacant HC position… but that’s already history, since Chudzinski signed a 2-year extension with the Browns! The Ravens already talked to the two Cowboys assistants Tony Sparano and Jason Garrett and Indianapolis Colts assistant head coach Jim Caldwell, and their former DC Rex Ryan

Two more NFL coaching jobs are open, and again, they are on the offensive side: The St. Louis Rams fired OC Greg Olson and OL coach Paul Boudreau on Monday after a more than disappointing 3-13 season…

and Joe Gibbs is also retiring, making the Washington Redskins the forth NFL team looking for a new HC, with the other three having a head start in the hunt for the best coach available for a NFL head coaching job… and Dan Shanoff sees this as a sign for a possible return of Bill Cowher

UPDATE: Just received notice, that the Denver Broncos DC Jim Bates stepped down and will not return for a second year in 2008!

The Atlanta Falcons interviewed Eagles GM Tom Heckert for their GM job

… remember that Bills HC Dick Jauron expected all three of his QBs back to One Bills drive enthusiastically to learn the new offensive system introduced by the yet-to-hire new OC? Well, things don’t turn out the way you plan/hope: Backup QB J.P. Losman, who lost his starting job during the season to rookie QB Trend Edwards, is officially seeking to be traded, but is also willing to play the final year of his contract with the Bills, if needed…

College Coaching Carousel:

EWU: The new HC for the Eastern Washington University is not a foreigner: Beau Baldwin, a four year EWU Eagles assistant coach before taking the HC job at Central Washington. He follows Paul Wulff, who is the new HC of Washington State…

June Jones, again, resigned from Hawaii, and will go to SMU to replace Phil Bennett fired already on Oct. 28th, reports Dan Shanoff… it is also reported that SMU is interested in Mike Martz, Larry Coker and Dennis Franchione. On Monday they interviewed Brian Schottenheimer currently the NY Jets offensive coordinator.

The departure of June Jones in Hawaii, reportedly because of the university’s commitment or rather non-commitment to football, brings two other names into the picture: Jerry Glanville and Mouse Davis, who already have experience with Hawaii…

WVU: Authorities at West Virginia University removed the ‘interims’ tag from their now permanent HC and former QB coach Bill Stewart.

Tennessee: vol.freak at volnation has a closer look at the possiblilities for the Volunteers new HC…
